Overview: George Marinescu was the principal news anchor of Romania’s national television for twenty years under the communist dictatorship. In 1989, just hours after broadcasting the regime’s threats against the demonstrators, he becomes a spokesperson for the revolutionary group that has occupied the television station. He later goes on to pursue a career as a journalist in the democratic era.
